The Giants have signed offensive lineman John Jerry, 6-5 and 335 pounds, a former starter at right guard for the Miami Dolphins in the last two seasons.
Jerry, 27 years old, has played in 57 games with 45 starts. In addition to having played at right guard, he can also play left tackle.
Jerry, who played his college ball at Ole Miss, has started 33 consecutive games. However, he is also one of the players named in the Wells report that investigated allegations of workplace harassment against former offensive tackle Jonathan Martin, now a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
“We did our homework on John, like we do with every player we sign,” general manager Jerry Reese said in a statement released by the team. “We were satisfied with the answers we got about John as a player and person.”
Jerry, 27, played in 49 games with 46 starts at Ole Miss, where he also played both guard and tackle. He previously starred at South Panola High School in Batesville, Miss.
