Giants Announce Five Undrafted Free Agent Signings; Cut Four

The Giants began tweaking their post-draft roster today by signing five undrafted rookie free agents and releasing four players.

The players who were released include quarterback Rusty Smith, whom they signed on April 28. Smith, who had been signed as an extra arm in the event starter Eli Manning couldn’t work during the OTAs, had his contract terminated.

In addition, linebacker Allen Bradford, cornerback Junior Mertile and punter Jordan Gay were waived by the club. Of those three, Bradford was the only one who had been on the 53-man roster last year after being acquired off waivers from Seattle.

Joining the Giants are defensive tackles Kelcy Quarles of South Carolina and Eathyn Manumaleuna of BYU, end Kerry Wynn of Richmond, linebacker Justin Anderson of Louisiana-Lafayette and safety Thomas Gordon of Michigan.

We’ll have more on the undrafted free agents as part of our June OTA/minicamp issue.
