The Giants announced their roster moves today to get to the NFL-mandated 750-man limit in advance of Tuesday’s deadline.
Headlining the moves were the release of linebacker Aaron Curry, the fourth overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft by Seattle who was traded to the Raiders in 2011 where he played two seasons
Curry’s release was foreshadowed by the fact that he had slipped behind Kyle Bosworth, who received more snaps in yesterday’s game against the Jets, on the depth chart as the second-team strongside linebacker.
In addition to Curry, the other players released today were fullback Ben Guidugli; wide receivers Brandon Collins (who faces a four-game NFL suspension at the beginning of the season) and Terrence Sinkfield; tight ends Jamie Childers and Chase Clement; offensive linemen Michael Jasper and Austin Holtz; linebackers Jake Muasau and Etienne Sabino; defensive tackle Frank Okam; and defensive backs Laron Scott, Junior Mertile and Alonzo Tweedy.
Safety Stevie Brown, who tore his ACL in yesterday’s game, was place on IR.
